Squid Game is Netflix's biggest TV show ever, breaking all kinds of records that even Stranger Things can't beat. Squid Game is one of Netflix's biggest hits ever. Seasons on Netflix: 2 (plus the Queen Charlotte spin-off) Cobra Kai Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, the show's first spin-off, is also available to stream now on Netflix. Still, is inclusion in our best Netflix shows list is a necessity. It’s not all smooth sailing, particularly in its troublesome treatment of sexual assault in one unfortunately memorable episode in season 1. Its diverse casting is a relief, too, underlining Bridgerton’s willingness to modernise and shake up an often stuffy genre. It’s largely a blast, with sharp screenwriting, costumes, and backdrops bursting with colour, as well as playful covers of Taylor Swift or Ariana Grande on period-appropriate instruments. Oh, and they attempt to outmanoeuvre the mysterious Lady Whistledown, whose ‘gossip sheets’ are able to make or break a debutante’s reputation overnight. ![]() This bold and sexually-charged Netflix period drama, based on Julia Quinn’s romance novels, follows a coterie of young socialites as they navigate a season of balls, betrothals, and betrayals in 1813 London. And, if you're keen to learn our thoughts on each entry, this handy ranked list of every Love, Death and Robots story should be top of your agenda. The episodes are super short, so you'll fire through it in a weekend if you can stomach the good and bad (though mostly bad) things that happen to its eclectic cast of characters. The ideas vary wildly between comedy, horror, action, and drama, with a dark touch at its heart – what happens if a home-cleaning unit starts trying to kill its owner? What happens if a yoghurt tries to secure world domination? Sometimes, an episode is as simple as a woman being on the run from a killer after witnessing a horrible murder. But taken as a larger work, this show has a lot to give. Like most (if not all) anthologies, the quality of Adult CG animated anthology Love, Death and Robots varies between episodes. Love, Death & Robots is a great R-rated animated anthology show. ![]() ![]() On the other hand, it’s kind of an incredible game to take small bites out of every now and then. Repetitive missions, repetitive environments, and repetitive enemies make it hard to enjoy extended sessions in Aragami 2. Due to the clunky AI, you can often just run away and hide in a corner after being caught to avoid combat and reset the enemy alert meters. ![]() There are fun ideas like parrying and sword-clashing at play, but it all feels a little muddy and unpolished. When you’re spotted in Aragami 2, you enter combat. The repetitive enemy design adds an extra wrinkle to the discomfort of failing stealth. ![]() Enemies and environments are just as repetitive – you’ll return to the same maps multiple times, and encounter the same humanoid blade-wielding guards for pretty much the entire run of the game. ![]() Mission objectives are far too basic and repetitive, and without a strong narrative purpose, it’s hard to get excited about nameless assassination contracts and generic supply gathering missions. Monster Hunter makes sense because of the endlessly repeatable nature of your task to hunt huge monsters, and other hub-oriented games justify the repetitive job-search with unique missions or threads of narrative tying sets of missions together.Īragami 2, struggles to justify the unstructured experience. The structure apes off Monster Hunter, but it’s hard to feel like it’s warranted. Grab a mission, hop into the shadow-teleporter-thing and get whisked away to a standalone environment in order to complete your objective and escape unharmed. The sequel is set in a small hub village, where you upgrade your abilities, customise your armor, and then snag missions from a job board. The variety of stealth tools at your disposal help break up the monotony of the new gameplay loop in Aragami 2, which might come as another surprise to fans of the original. Underneath it all, the fundamental stealth gameplay remains, and it’s easily the most satisfying part of the game. A generic distraction whistle that alerts nearby enemies can be upgraded to target specific guards, or a temporary smokescreen can become a permanent smoke-emitter deployed at any lanterns on the map. You can unlock a series of base perks with useful properties, and then dump a few extra skill points into each perk to upgrade them and their abilities. A few core abilities from the original – like creating shadows in your environment to act as movement markers and hiding spots – have been removed in favour of mixing a larger skill tree of more versatile abilities into the game. Narrative and character development are much less of a focus in this sequel, so while the light story elements tie into the new open-ended nature of the gameplay loop and make it easy for anyone to hop into the game, it’s sure to be a disappointment for any existing fans of the series.Ī lot of the core gameplay of the first Aragami carries forward to the sequel, but it’s been remixed, expanded and altered in a lot of ways. ![]() There are a few interesting ideas established throughout the 15-hour campaign of Aragami 2, but don’t expect them to get explored or fleshed out in a satisfying way. Set a century after the first game, it tosses the protagonist of the original into an entirely new world where shadow-inflicted citizens of a small village are at risk of being decimated by an invading clan of warriors. There’s no need to catch up on the story of the first game before diving into Aragami 2. ![]() ![]() ![]() It was the lunch photo that was published in the New York Herald Tribune that October, seven months before the building would open.Īt the time, steel was an integral part of the American Dream. ![]() Other photos taken that day show the workers playing football, holding up American flags or pretending to sleep on the steel beam. But "the funniest part about the photographs," she said, "were they were done for publicity." "You see the picture once, you never forget it," Rockefeller Center archivist Christine Roussel told Time magazine. Intrepid steel workers eat lunch atop the 70 story RCA building in Rockefeller Centre in New York in 1932. Some historians believe there was a sturdy level of the structure, then called the RCA building, just below the frame. But rather than capture them in the midst of their lunch break, the photographer posed them on the beam for multiple takes - images that were intended as advertising for the new building. They did build the structure that is now the 22nd tallest building in New York City and home to NBC studios. The men in the picture were real ironworkers. Photo buffs know the truth behind the classic photo: It was staged. And every Labor Day, it is shared across social media, in tribute to those whose perspiration and determination built this country. Construction workers frequently re-create the 87-year-old photo. It still hangs in pubs, classrooms and union offices across the nation. ![]() The resulting photograph became one of the most iconic images in the world, an embodiment of the spirit of the American worker. They appeared to be completely unfazed by the location of this break: a narrow steel beam jutting out into the sky, hundreds of feet above the pavement.Īs one coveralled man helped another light his smoke, someone snapped a picture. The ironworkers constructing its 70 floors were taking a break, sharing boxed lunches and cigarettes. But on West 49th Street, a pillar of hope was under construction: the art deco skyscraper that would come to be known as 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Unemployment and uncertainty could be felt throughout the city and the entire country. It was September of 1932, as the Great Depression was reaching its height. It was also probably the best answer to xerneas in ubers, and we all know how valuable that is. It could easily boost thanks to having such amazing bulk, and had the potential to become ultra necrozma, which was one of the most unstoppable offensive threats in ubers, although most dusk mane sets just stuck to leftovers or helmet, since the defensive utility of necrozma was so valuable. Incredibly bulk that was complimented by an amazing ability, a wide utility movepool including rocks, knock off, roar, and thunder wave, and best of all, wasn’t passive due to having an enormous attack stat. Dusk mane was the first true steel type of ubers. Solgaleo existed, but it just didn’t have the best stats or ability, and it definitely wasn’t functional as a defensive mon, which is what steel types are most valuable for. Arceus was fine, but running it meant that you weren’t using a better arceus form, so it wasn’t very common. Dialga was amazing in dpp, but the inability to resist dragon, and especially fairy come gen 6 with xerneas meant that it didn’t really fulfill the needs of a steel type. Previously, the only steels with box art stats were dialga, solgaleo, and arceus-steel. Mods may remove posts at their discretion.Ĭlick Here for All Links and Subs! Click Here to See the Wiki!
